The fire at 116th and Elm Street Tuesday night is the latest setback for 27 year old Jennah Harris. Harris came home around 5:30 and found the house she and her two daughters rented in flames.
They lost all of their possesions, including new school clothes and the pictures Lexi and Leah had of their father. Willie Longmore was murdered two years ago near 40th and Bedford. The family did not have renters insurance.
To make matters worse, Harris was recently diagnosed with cancer. As the family stuggles to find a new place to live, family and friends are looking for help from the community.
The Alexis and Aliah Longmore Fund has been set up at Centris Credit Union.
"This family knows tragedy, this family knows pain," says Harris' best friend Megan Gunsolley. "Anything anyone is willing to do to help is so much appreciated.
