(Cedar Falls, IA) -- Lincoln, Nebraska native Megan Franklin has been tapped to be the next Director of Athletics at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. Megan Franklin comes to UNI from Drake University's athletic department, where she has worked over a decade. She'll begin the job next Monday.
Franklin earned her bachelor’s degree in Community Health Education at the University of Nebraska and later received a master’s degree in Educational Administration specializing in student affairs from Nebraska. She owns a PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Virginia Tech.
Bob Bowlsby had been serving as UNI's temporary, interim A-D while the university searched for a permanent replacement for Athletics Director Davis Harris,who left UNI for Tulane in 2023.
University of Nebraska-Lincoln Director of Athletics Troy Dannen was AD at UNI between 2008 and 2015.
