Attorney General Jon Bruning joined us to talk about the hearing on the mental condition of Erwin Charles Simants who was found not guilty by reason of insanity for the 1975 murder of 6 people in the Henry Kelly family in Sutherland, NE. Bruning talked about the procedure and his hope that Simants would not be released. He also discussed the difficulties the state carrying out an execution a2nd the need to change the drug cocktail to account for the unavailability of one of the drugs. He also discussed good time laws that need to be changed.
