So who are you, Chris Baker, and why are you on my radio station?
I first started coming to Omaha when I was a road comic working at the Funny Bone back when it was located on West Dodge next to Russo’s Music. I used to stare in the windows looking at the guitars between shows.
Always liked it here; it always felt right.
Started in Omaha radio here at KKAR, working closely with political powerhouse Chuck Walker, and radio legend Steve Brown. Worked at 101.9 the Edge and had the greatest time on the radio a guy could have.
Met my wife here, got married here, and was part of the broadcast team during the incredible ’97 National Championship Husker football season. (I even “acquired” Peyton Manning’s mouthpiece after the Orange Bowl. Attempts to clone him as a Husker recruit have been, thus far, unsuccessful.)
Most of my greatest moments in my life in the last 20 years have happened in this town.
Like I said, it always felt right.
My show works like this...
We talk about stuff, life, news and then I tell you what I think and you tell me what you think, and we talk about it.
Where do I stand on the big issues?
Let’s get these out of the way;
I don’t like state taxes.
I’m ready to start a Miley Cyrus meltdown pool.
I don’t like Communists. Period.
I want my kids to succeed in life so they can keep “me” living to the standard which I’m accustomed since they owe me. (That’s my kids, not yours.)
I like guns with 30 round magazines.
I have to take my son Geronimo ice fishing.
Trannies are mental patients.
America is the greatest country in the world.
I know more about women than any man on the planet.
We have to do our best; we owe this generation’s veterans and soldiers that.
There we go, that should cover it for now.
Oh…wait a minute: Jerry Jones is the biggest gas bag in professional football.
There.
