On Wednesday’s Good Morning Show:

Trenton Magid, co-host of Grow Omaha (heard Saturday morning’s at 8 AM on 1110 KFAB) joined us for the weekly development update.  Most of the conversation centered on the plans for the redevelopment of the Crossroads Mall and some surrounding property.

John Chatelain is the President of the Metro Omaha Property Owners Assn. He supports State Senator Russ Karpisek’s bill, LB 108, that would bar cities and local government’s from licensing and collecting fees to oversee all different types of businesses. The bill comes as a result of the City of Omaha’s move last year to license contractor’s, and could easily be expanded to include all types of businesses. Chatelain says this is contrary to court rulings that give the city the right to regulate, but not license.
