On Monday’s Good Morning Show

We note the passing of one of the Huskers great running backs.  Ken Clark died of a heart attack on Saturday in Minneapolis.  He was 46. Clark's 3037 rushing yards in three seasons still ranks him 7th on the Husker’s all-time rushing list. His most memorable game was in 1988 when  he rushed for 256 yards and three touchdowns against the Heisman Trophy winner Barry Sander’s Oklahoma State.  He was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts and played in 34 games in three seasons between 1990-1992.

We spoke to Clark’s coach at Omaha Bryan High School, Tim Bond. Bond remembers Clark as a versatile player who could play defense as well as offense, and remained humble even with his success at Nebraska and in the NFL.

We had our weekly briefing from Joe Jordan of Nebraska Watchdog.org.  He talked about Governor Heineman’s decision over the weekend to not pursue elimination of the state income tax this year.  He also talked about other state’s noting that Nebraska’s legislature appears to work well in a non-partisan atmosphere.

State Senator Paul Schumacher of District 22 in Platte and Stanton County joined us to talk about LB 412.  That bill would prohibit law enforcement from using drones to collect evidence and other information.  This bill is opposed by the Nebraska Sherriff’s Association, which calls the legislation premature. Schumacher responds to that in the interview.
