Zahid Khalid is with Great Lakes Medical Billing, a company that provides billing and accounting services for medical offices and small hospitals. Kahlid says there is a growing trend of doctors offering concierge care where a patient pays a monthly retainer and in return receives quicker access to a doctor, even house calls, and more personal attention. But this also means these doctors no longer take medicare patients, primarily because of the lower payments and massive paperwork that is involved.
