U.S. Senator Deb Fischer expressed her outrage over the Obama Administration scandals involving Benghazi, the IRS, and contact and background information obtained in Associated Press files. She talks about what actions the Congress is doing about it now and what she thinks needs to happen.

On Wednesday’s Good Morning Show

Newly elected Mayor Jean Stothert gave her first long form interview with KFAB. She spoke about why she thinks she won by such a large margin over Jim Suttle, and what her vision is for her role as Mayor when she takes office in June.

Jeff Beals and Trenton Magid, hosts of Grow Omaha heard Saturday mornings at 8 AM on 1110 KFAB. They spoke about the impact of the elections on growth and development and big development news in the Old Market, 90^th and Center and in Gretna.

Dr. Edibaldo Silva is a surgical oncologist at UNMC and discusses actress Angelina Jolie’s announcement that she had a double mastectomy after genetic testing showed that she had an 87% chance of getting breast cancer. Silva spoke about how often women face a genetic testing result like this and what type of surgery is best for the women for practical and cosmetic reasons.

On Tuesday’s Good Morning Show:

Douglas County Election Commissioner Dave Phipps dropped in to talk about today’s city election as far as predicted turnout and how he came to that figure.  He also gave a few details on early voting and what we should look for with turnout in some specific districts tonight.

Governor Dave Heineman called in to encourage voter turnout today but also to discuss his veto of a bill that would shore up the state’s retirement plan for school employees, state troopers and judges among others. He also talked about a bill that would repeal the death penalty and one that would repeal the motorcycle helmet requirement.

Jim Vokal is the executive director of the Platte institute and he talked their position paper on the proposed internet sales tax bill that is in Congress.

On Monday’s Good Morning Show

Nebraska Watchdog  Joe Jordan made his weekly visit and today, as expected, we looked at the final day before the Omaha city elections. Specifically, where turn out will be needed for Jim Suttle to win versus Jean Stothert, and what early voting numbers may or may not predict about the outcome of the Mayor’s race.

Kathy Holkeboer is executive director of the Voter Information Project-Nebraska.  Her website has unedited responses from candidates for City Council and Mayor to a series of about 20 questions submitted to the candidates.  Mayor Suttle was among a few of the candidates that did not supply a reply.

Mike Unger is the Executive Vice-President of USA Swimming, who led the site selection committee that recently chose Omaha to host the 2016 US Olympic Swim Trials for a third straight time.  Unger, in town to sign contracts with the Omaha Sports Commission, stopped by to talk about why Omaha was able to get the trials against stiff competition from domed stadiums in San Antonio and St. Louis.
