Occupy Nebraska protesters have left their encampment on Centennial Mall near the state Capitol.
An aide to Mayor Chris Beutler, Rick Hoppe, says the protesters stayed pretty close to their word that they'd leave by Tuesday's deadline.
Hoppe says there's only a little debris left to remove from the area. Two of the last people at the camp were cited for misdemeanors.
The Occupy movement began last year in New York, decrying what protesters see as corporate greed and the growing gap between rich and poor. The Lincoln offshoot took up residence on Oct. 15.
A construction crew needs the space for an upcoming renovation project for Centennial Mall.
