John Stacey has been placed on administrative leave for an inappropriate incident.

Bellevue City Administrator Dan Berlowitz says an investigation into the police chief should be complete within the week.  The city attorney is conducting the investigation.

Berlowitz says Stacey is on paid administrative leave for an incident that happened at a volunteer fire department on Monday night.  Berlowitz says there were other city employees present at the time, but would not confirm whether the incident was verbal or physical

Stacey has been with the Bellevue Police Department for over 30 years. He also served nearly four decades as volunteer with the Fire Department, 14 of those as chief.
