Omaha police have arrested a 29-year-old man on homicide and weapons charges stemming from an April shooting.

Ramone Jefferson is suspected in the slaying of 27-year-old James Edwards. Edwards was shot the evening of April 1 and died later at a hospital.

A Douglas County jailer said Jefferson remained in custody Friday. Jefferson's lawyer didn't immediately return a call from The Associated Press.

Police say 24-year-old Apollo Cobb, of Omaha, has been charged as an accessory to the crime.  A public phone listing for Cobb could not be found. His lawyer didn't immediately return a call.
