Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney was in downtown Omaha Thursday afternoon for a private fundraiser and a public rally.
Following the fundraiser at the Hilton Hotel, Romney rallied hundreds of supporters at Rick’s Café Boatyard. Romney promised he would repeal Obamacare and blasted President Barack Obama for the $5 trillion of national debt. He also predicted Obama would rack up add another $4 trillion if he's re-elected.
“That's something we're not going to pay back," Romney said. "It's these young kids and kids coming out of school today that'll pay that. It's unacceptable, it's bad policy and I think it's immoral of us to pass these burdens on to our kids.”
Romney told the hundreds of supporters who gathered that he will make America more energy secure. "And we're going to get that pipeline from Canada in here too."
