Two Omaha women are in jail, accused of keeping money that wasn't theirs.

It was a $49,000 mistake.  Then two Omaha women made a worse mistake.

The money was mistakenly deposited in their company's account by the Nebraska Department of Eduction.  It turns out their business has a similar name to the proper recipient.  They transferred the money into their personal accounts and spent it, ignoring requests by the state to return the money or work out a plan to pay it back.

After six months. the Education Department called in the the State Patrol.  Troopers arrested Cassandra Wright and Chudney Knave on felony theft charges Wednesday.  They're now in the Douglas County jail.
