Stacey, Lawry Facing Charges

Sarpy County Attorney Lee Polikov says Bellevue Police Chief John Stacey and former Gretna City Administrator Colleen Lawry will be charged with violating a gun certificate law.

Investigators say that Stacey loaned a gun to Lawry. Authorities executing a search warrant found a gun in Lawry's home that she said a friend had loaned her.

Polikov says Lawry didn't have a certificate for the gun. Both are being charged with misdemeanors.  Stacey has been on leave since May 2 pending an unrelated case. Lawry was fired from her position and arrested earlier this month in connection with a separate investigation of misusing funds.
