Dr. Nancy Sebring was scheduled to take over the Omaha Public Schools on July first.

The board of Omaha Public Schools Saturday afternoon accepted the resignation of Superintendent-designate Nancy Sebring.

The story surfaced Friday that Dr. Sebring abruptly resigned her previous post in Des Moines after accepting the Omaha job after being confronted about sexually explicit e-mails sent and received on her official schools account.

After that came to light, Sebring offered her resignation to the board, which voted to accept it hours later.  The vote was 9-1.

Sebring was scheduled to officially take over the helm of OPS on July first.
