Sergeant Chad Meyers of Council Bluffs police says the Plattsmouth woman used a zip tie to strangle 10-year-old Owen Schilling, then used a different zip tie to strangle herself.
Their bodies were found May 20th near Lake Manawa, after the two had been missing for ten days. Schilling's vehicle had been found at Lake Manawa State Park several days before.
Mother and son were buried last week.
