Bidding on a private lunch with investor Warren Buffett has started off slowly, but the auction that attracted winning bids of more than $2 million in each of the past four years runs all week.

By Tuesday morning, the bids remained at the opening price of $25,000, but astronomical bids typically don't arrive until the last minute. The eBay auction runs until Friday evening.

The auction's proceeds go to the Glide Foundation, which provides social services to the poor and homeless in San Francisco. Over the past 13 years, the auction raised more than $11.5 million.

The winners usually dine with Buffett at New York's Smith and Wollensky steak house. The only topic off limits is what Buffett is planning to invest in next for Berkshire Hathaway.
