Thursday evening storms packed quite a windy punch.

Winds of up to 65 miles an hour were reported in parts of eastern Nebraska.  There were reports of a number of downed tree limbs, power lines, power poles and one tree fell on a garage. Fire crews were kept busy with a number transformer sparks and trees on fire from power lines.  With power out many traffic lights were not in service and that caused traffic problems in Bellevue.  Large tree limbs also blocked several streets.

At one point over 4,000 OPPD customers in Sarpy County were without service.  Fewer customers in Douglas, Saunders and Washington Counties were without service.    There was also farm building damage reported in Mills County, Iowa.

The storm that swept through the area canceled Thursday night's opening ceremonies of the College World Series.
