A 30-year-old Council Bluffs woman has been arrested after her baby was found alone in an unlocked van.

Tiffany Tunney was arrested Monday night on suspicion of child endangerment. A passer-by heard the baby inside a van parked at the Supersaver grocery store on east Broadway. Its windows were rolled down a few inches.

Sheriff Jeff Danker says the baby girl was crying and sweating, so deputies put her into their vehicle to cool off.  Tunney later told deputies she'd gone inside the store for a couple items and forgot the baby was in the van. The deputies also say Tunney couldn't remember the girl's middle name and referred to her as "the new one.''

It's estimated the nine month old child was in the van for about 25 minutes.
