8 vehicles involved

It started around 4:30 Friday afternoon as eastbound I-80 slowed to one lane entering a construction zone.  A semi driver apparantly didn't see the slowing traffic or was unable to slow his rig.  He veered to the righthand shoulder,  but clipped several vehicles causing a chain reaction.

There were only three injuries.  The semi driver and two children in one of the other vehicles were taken to the hospital.

A second minor crash occurred in the westbound lanes as a motorist slowed and tried to take a cell phone picture.

Both lanes were reopened to traffic around 9:30 P-M Friday night.
