Two drivers are dead following a police chase and crash that began with a carjacking in northwestern Missouri. Missouri State Troopers pursuing the suspect say Hartline lost control when another car was trying to pass on Missouri 92 yesterday near Tracy.
Officers say that's when he collided with an SUV headed in the opposite direction. The woman driving the SUV died at the scene. Hartline died later at the hospital. Investigators say Hartline began his crime spree by stealing a car in Council Bluffs and driving to St. Joseph.
Police say Hartline then stole four more cars and committed a burglary before troopers began pursuing him.
