Omaha police say victim suffered life threatening injury
Omaha Police say 15 year old Jeremy Smith told investigators was in the area of 16th and Ogden Sunday afternoon when he was approached by a passenger in an unknown vehicle who started yelling at him.
Smith says he ignored the suspect the first time, but when he yelled again he began to run and heard a “pop” then felt pain in his chest.
He ran to a friend’s house who took him home and his family took him to the hospital. Officers were unable to locate a scene or evidence. Smith's injury is life threatening. The search for the gunman continues.
