a 28 year old Ralston man was airlifted to the hospital following the morning rush hour accident

La Vista Police Captain D.J. Barcal tells 1110 KFAB Miguel Corio was riding south on 84th Street and was attempting to cross Harrison Street when he was hit by an eastbound pick up that was turning off of 84th.

Barcal says Corio was wearing a helmet, but still suffered a critical head injury.  He was airlifted to Creighton University Medical Center where he is in critical, but stable condition.

The truck driver, 50 year old Stanley Young of Papillion, was taken to the hospital after suffering an anxiety attack.  No citation was issued.

Barcal says it's possible sun glare as a factor in the crash.
