Time to clear out the debris lurking inside your heat pump.
Did you fire up your furnace over the weekend? A little work now can save you time and money later.
Wade Mayfield with Thermal Services Heating Air and Plumbing says if you have a heat pump, clean it out. "They get a lot of dirt, grass, cottonwood seed in them," Mayfield says, "so they need to be taken apart and cleaned out."
He adds to check the filter, changing it if needed... and make sure to turn on the unit's humidifier and change that filter as well.
