The incoming Husker AD took questions today in his first Lincoln press conference.
Shawn Eichorst faced the Nebraska press corps today... another benchmark in his journey to his new position as NU Athletic Director.
Until Tom Osborne's term as AD ends at the end of the year, Eichorst will serve as a special assistant to Chancellor Harvey Perlman. And Eichorst wasted no time in praising his predecessor. "Coach Osborne is a legend that stands for dignity," he said. "I look forward to improving my life by working with Coach Osborne."
The former Miami AD also took time to shout out to Nebraska's sizable fan base. "And thank you to Husker Nation, whose warm embrace has proved that class and passion go hand in hand."
Eichorst said he had not yet met Nebraska football coach Bo Pelini, but Pelini told reporters on the weekly Big 10 conference call that he'd heard nothing but good things about Eichorst, and looked forward to working with him.
