Lincoln Police say an 18-year-old has been arrested for dragging two Lincoln officers who tried to take him into custody.

Police spokeswoman Katie Flood says Shahbaz Mohammad of Lincoln was arrested at 5:00 Monday morning and faces two felony counts of assault on an officer and one of fleeing to avoid arrest.
Flood says a car was pulled over at 11:55 p.m. Sunday. The officers say the car driver didn't properly identify himself, so the officers tried to take him out of the car. That's when the driver punched the accelerator and took off with the officers hanging on.
One officer let go after about 30 feet, but the other didn't let go for about 10 blocks.
Both officers were taken to a hospital for treatment and have been released.
