Police say the man police are looking for fired shots
Omaha Police say the Iowa State Patrol was pursuing the man in a stolen vehicle at around 10:45. The chase came into Omaha on I-80.
Police say the suspect driver and lone occupant of the car was armed and had already fired out the back windshield at the vehicle’s owner.
The man exited the interstate at 42nd Street and the chase went through southeast Omaha. During the chase, police say the man tossed a stolen firearm out the window and it was recovered at 39th & P St.
The car was later abandoned in an alley at 20th and Castelar. Police say the car was originally stolen from Omaha and the gun was stolen out of Carter Lake, IA last month.
