Arrest followed a police pursuit early Thursday morning

Omaha Police say it all started around 12:30 a.m. when officers found 32 year old Jeremy Torpy in a black Jeep Wrangler near 50th and L Streets.

Officer Michael Pecha says officers tried to stop the Jeep, but it took off and a pursuit began.  Officers lost sight of it near 48th and K streets.

The Able One police helicopter was called in to assist in the search. A 911 call led police to two people who were hiding in the area of 42nd and H streets.

Police say Torpy climbed onto the roof of a house and eventually surrendered without incident.  He was booked for robbery, flight to avoid arrest, theft by unlawful taking, willful reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident.

Officers also arrested 25 year Makayla Secord, who was hiding in the backyard.  She was booked for possession of a controlled substance and receiving a stolen item.

A third person, 29 year old Christopher Roach,  was booked on several charges, including felony flight to avoid arrest, possession of stolen property, leaving the scene of an accident and possession of drug paraphernalia.
