Investigators say the fire was caused when someone carried a five-gallon water jug filled with gasoline into the basement.

New details have been released in Tuesday's housefire near 37th and Fowler that killed two men and left another in critical condition.

Investigators say the fire was caused when someone carried a five-gallon water jug filled with gasoline into the basement. The container broke open and vapors from the gas reached the pilot light of the furnace. Neighbors reported hearing an explosion before seeing the fire.

Merlin Gardner and Billy Boyer died from their injuries. Another man is in critical condition.
