The pursuit of the stolen car ended west of St. Pius School near 70th and Blondo
Omaha Police Lt. Marcia Janucik says the chase began around 1:15 when officers tried to stop a stolen convertible near 52nd and Ames Avenue. She says one of the people inside the car was believed to be possibly armed.
The driver refused to stop and the chase proceded at normal speeds through several neighborhoods. Janucik says the car went through a park and down an embankment before it came to rest on a chain link fence.
Police briefly locked down St. Pius X/St. Leo School. The two men and a woman fled from the car. Two of them were arrested right away and it took the K-9 unit to track down the third person, who was hiding in the thick brush.
