School officials say the student set off an explosive device on school grounds Friday
Omaha Police were called to the school just before 4 p.m. after a staff member saw the incident and alerted school officials, who found suspicious materials in his backpack.
The Omaha Police Bomb Squad was called in and determined the property in question was in fact explosive materials. They also found additional materials for making explosive devices at his house as well as marijuana in his backpack.
The boy, whose name was not released, was booked for possession of explosive materials, possession of an explosive device and possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
