Eriana Carr was killed by gunfire Tuesday night. Nakia Johnson is stable at Nebraska Medical Center.

The dead girl was identified as 16-year-old Eriana Carr, a junior at Benson High School. The other victim was identified as 20-year-old Nakia Johnson. Police say Johnson was in stable condition Wednesday at Nebraska Medical Center.

Carr and Johnson were outside their home near 35th and Redick Tuesday around 8:15 p.m. when neighbors reported hearing several gunshots and screams.

KFAB news learned Wednesday that Carr was a cheerleader and basketball player.  She was also involved in an scholars program and wanted to be an educator.

Prinicpal Anita Baldwin says they will have grief counselors at the school the rest of the week.  Carr is the third Benson student to be murdered in the past 14 months.
