Long lines reported at polling places across the metro area
Voter turnout has been high across the metro area today. Long lines began forming as the polls opened at 8:00. Congressman Lee Terry voted near 176th and Arbor this morning and was joined by his 18 year old son, who was voting in his first General Election.
U-S Senate Candidate Bob Kerrey cast his vote at 61st and Western and got some help from 11 year old son Henry, who stood next to his father in the voting booth.
Kerrey's opponent Deb Fischer made one last push by waving signs with volunteers at 90th and Dodge over the noon hour.
Douglas County Election Commisioner Dave Phipps says there have been some minor mix ups today, but overall things have run smoothly. You can hear live coverage of the election results tonight beginning at 8:00 on 1110 KFAB
