A Lincoln officer has been treated at a hospital after being dragged by a vehicle he'd pulled over.

Police say a sport utility vehicle was pulled over for a traffic violation early Friday morning. Capt. Jason Stille says the driver had a warrant out for his arrest, so the officer asked the driver to get out of the SUV.

The driver accelerated away instead, with the officer clinging to the SUV's side because one of his arms was caught in the driver's window.

The SUV stopped about a block later, and Stille says the driver jumped out and ran. He was soon caught and arrested.

The officer was treated at the hospital and returned to duty.
