A dusting of snow provided a little holiday season atmosphere in the metro Monday, with about half-an-inch reported by the National Weather Service office in Valley.

Further west, the white stuff was a good bit more prevalent.

In the panhandle, where Valentine picked up from four-to-five inches.

The weather service reported around noon that the snow had ended across western and north-central Nebraska. Drivers heading west were advised that roads in the panhandle will continue to be slick, especially where roads haven't been treated.
