Hundreds of citations issued during the traffic enforcement effort.
The Omaha Police Department conducted nine operations throughout the city between November 19-25. The following are the results of those operations. Officers issued 404 citations for speeding, 72 for no seatbelt use, 44 for a lack of registration/insurance, 68 moving violations and four drug issues.
There were also 24 DUI Arrests, 16 first Offense, three second offense, and five felony DUI’s.
Pre surveys were conducted at five intersections in the city showing a 62.6% seatbelt usage rate prior to the campaign. Post surveys were conducted at the same 5 intersections after the campaign with the results showing a 63.8% seatbelt usage rate.
