Police were called to check on the condition of a suicidal man with a knife
near 124th and Burt
Lt. Darci Tierney says officers were called to check on the well being of the man around noon. They were then told he was suicidal and armed with a knife.
Tierney says the unidentified man kept walking and police confronted him in the backyard of a home. Tierney says at least one officer shot the man and he was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
The man's name has not been released. Police have not released any specific details about the confrontation and shooting.
