Mayor Jim Suttle says a request for proposals is being sent out

The Civic Auditorium, Music Hall and Mancuso Hall will close in June of 2014.  Suttle says the city does not want to spend millions more to renovate the aging facility in downtown.

Suttle says they will use an owner's representative to begin a nationwide search for a developer.    The request for porposals would include a market study to see what type of development would be the best fit for the 10-acre site.

Suttle says the parking garage just west of the facility will remain.  The Civic Auditorium has recently lost a number of tenants, including the Omaha Beef.
