Holiday season gets an early start at Children's Hospital and Medical Center
Jolly Old Saint Nick put a lot of smiles on the faces of children and their families who will be spending the holiday season in the hospital.
Santa Claus arrived by helicopter Thursday morning and, with the help of U.S. Marines, handed out toys to the children. The Marines escorted Santa through the emergency room and then to the atrium where several families were waiting.
The Marines annual Toys for Tots campaign is expected to benefit nearly 21-thousand Nebraska children. Next week they will collect the toys that will be distributed.
