The family of four was not home at the time
The fire broke out around 10:30 south of 28th and Chandler. The house had a for sale sign in the front yard.
Battalion Fire Chief Steve Wagner says the fire started on one side of the house and spread to the interior. The family that lives in the house will have to make alternative living arrangements.
The cause of the fire is not known. Wagner says the homeowner plans to take the for sale sign down until the extensive repairs can be made.
Nobody was home when the fire started. The homeowner told Wagner that he will take down the for sale sign due to the considerable damage.
