The head on crash happened on Highway 275 near Waterloo early Friday morning

Douglas County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Marty Bilek says the crash happened when the driver of an eastbound car lost control due to icy conditions on the Highway 275 overpass near West Maple Road.

The car was then hit head on by a westbound pick up truck.  Bilek says the driver of the Honda Civic and three passengers were dead at the scene. The pick up driver was not seriously injured.

The crash shut down Highway 275 from Maple to Blondo. Friday morning's crash comes one day after a 48 year old Valley woman was killed in the same area.  Fog and ice were factors in that crash.

Bilek reminds drivers when it is near freezing and the humidity is high, road conditions are unpredictable and bridges and overpasses could be icy.
