Monique Lee was sentenced two months ago to life in prison for strangling Omaha landlord Karen Jenkins in 2010
According to the Nebraska Department of Corrections website, the 29 year old Lee died Friday at the women's prison in York. He cause of death is not yet known.
Lee was convicted in November of killing Jenkins. She and her brother Gary Lee lured Jenkins to an empty apartment. Once inside, Monique Lee strangled her with a chord.
Her body was found several days later outside an abandoned house in north Omaha. Lee was convicted of first degree murder. Her brother is serving 65-100 years in prison.
