Employees at the Goodwill warehouse at 72nd and F Streets discovered the possible pipe bomb in the morning's donations.

The Omaha Police bomb squad was called out around 10:00 this morning after a suspicious device was found in a donation box.

The building was evacuated as bomb squad technicans removed the device.  Commander Matt Manhart says the suspected pipe bomb was about 10 to 12 inches long and an inch and a half in diameter.

Officer Michael Pecha said the bomb unit took the device to another location, where it was made safe. "The device was determined to be a 'hoax device'" he said, "and did not contain any explosive material."
