We can expect snow and blowing snow across the metro area tonight.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 7pm Tuesday to 8 am Wednesday.
Snow should start falling in the metro area after 6pm Tuesday and continue until 1 or 2 am Wednesday morning. Two to three inches of snow is possible for the metro but then winds will pick up to 35 mph, causing blowing and drifting snow that can reduce visibilities.
Accumulations from 2" to 5" are expected over parts of eastern Nebraska and southwest Iowa. The heavier accumulations are forecast south of a line from about Albion to Onawa.
The cities of Omaha, Council Bluffs, Fremont, Blair, Bellevue, Papillion, La Vista, Missouri Valley, Woodbine, Logan and Dunlap are included in this advisory.
