A 26 year old man is facing a long list of charges after a hit and run Thursday evening.
The victim of a hit and run called police around 7:45on January 31st saying their vehicle had been hit by Mitsubishi Lancer at 35th and Burt Street. Officers had a description of the suspect and spotted a man that matched it at 33rd and Lincoln Boulevard. A witness identified the suspect as the man who got out of the Mitsubishi and ran.
Police ran the license plate on the Mitsubishi and contacted the owner who stated the vehicle had been stolen from bar on South 13th Street.
Police say the suspect; 26 year old Shane Ryks then complained of chest pains and was taken to a hospital to be evaluated. After Ryks was cleared of health issues he was then booked on a long list of charges that include felony receiving of stolen item, leaving the scene of an accident, 1st offense DUI, refusing to take a chemical test, driving under suspension and several traffic offenses.
