Two others were sent to the hospital
Omaha Police say the crash happened at Saddle Creek and Poppleton around 12:37 Sunday morning. Witnesses say the driver of a 1995 Cadilac Deville was speeding southbound on Saddle Creek.
The car went up on the curb at Pierce Street and came back on the roadway. Investigators say the Cadilac crossed into northbound traffic and struck a Chevy Aveo driven by 60 year old Betty Warren. Warren was rushed to the hospital in critical condition and later died.
The driver of the Cadilac, 23 year old Raysean Barber, suffered a fractured neck and small brain bleed. He was listed in serious condition, but police say he will survive. A passenger in Barber's car suffered minor injuries.
In addition to speed, police say alcohol was a factor in the crash.
