Police say speed and alcohol contributed to the crash

Omaha Police say the crash happened late Saturday night near the I-680/I-80 split.  Investigators say the driver of an Audi was westbound on I-80, on the ramp to go northbound I-680, and left the roadway.

The car went through the median and vaulted onto a southbound 2001 Buick Lesabre.  After hitting the car, the Audi went over the concrete barrier and landed in the median.

The Audi driver, 24 year old Patricia Caffey of Bellevue, was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the car.  She suffered a broken spine and small brain bleed.  Investigators say her injuries are not life threatening.

The driver of the other car suffered a minor head injury.
