Two Omaha men are accused of stealing empty kegs from Old Chicago
Omaha Police say early Monday morning detectives were following up on an investigation at the Old Chicago near 132nd and Maple when they spotted a suspect vehicle.
When officers approached it, 46-year-old Tracy Maxwell tried to run, but was quickly arrested. The other man, 43-year-old Gary Starks, took off but was arrested after crashing the vehicle near 132nd and Dodge.
Starks was booked for burglary, attempted burglary, leaving the scene of an accident, and theft by receiving. Maxwell was booked for burglary and attempted burglary.
Police say both men were involved in several burglaries at Old Chicago locations where empty kegs were stolen. Starks and Maxwell reportedly turned the kegs in for the deposit at a Gretna liquor store.
