The woman was taken to Creighton University Medical Centerl for treatment.
A mother and her 2-year-old child were wounded in a shooting at the Indian Hills Village Apartments on the east side of Council Bluffs around 5:40 Tuesday morning.
The woman was putting her child into a car when someone opened fire. The woman was hit several times, and her child was hit in an arm. Sergeant Chad Meyers says they are both expected to recover.
It's unclear whether the woman knew the shooter. No arrests have been reported, but Meyers says two people were taken in for questioning.
