Mary Aten stole from the church while she worked there as office manager between July 2009 and February 2012.
An Omaha woman has been given one to two years in prison for stealing from a church in Blair.
Online court records say Mary Aten made a deal with Washington County prosecutors and pleaded no contest to a reduced felony charge of theft and to a reduced misdemeanor charge of attempting to evade income tax. Prosecutors dropped three other tax-related charges in return for her pleas.
At her sentencing on Tuesday, Aten was ordered to repay First Christian Church $12,000. Authorities say she'd stolen from the church while she worked there as office manager between July 2009 and February 2012.
